- How far is the bach from Picton?
A short 15-20 minute boat ride from either Waikawa or Picton.
- Can I drive there?
No, the Bach is boat access only. You can access it by water taxi – see the links on our Contact Us page for Cougar Line and Picton Water Taxis.
- Where can I leave my car in Picton?
There are various car parks around Picton that allow overnight parking. Make sure you park in the correct space otherwise you will get fined!
- Is there a mooring I can use?
Yes. And a jetty.
- Are there any kayaks available for use?
Yes, there is one kayak and a dinghy (no motor, just oars).
- Do you have fishing rods or life jackets?
No sorry, we don’t have fishing rods or life jackets.
- Can I take my dog?
Yes, we allow house trained dogs. There is a $100 Pet Bond which is fully refundable at the end of your stay if there is no extra cleaning required. Please make sure you let us know if you are wanting to take your pet.
The bach was wonderful, an excellent bach in the Marlborough sounds. It had all the amenities that a family needs. The walks are interesting. . Most of all it is wonderful place to shut off and just enjoy relax in a bach.
Great spot! Great afternoon sun - we have spent a lot of time in the sounds over the years and its a must to have the afternoon sun as many places don't! Highly recommend!

Beautiful, tranquil, picturesque....a stunning location and so close to Picton. A real Kiwi bach experience, right on the beach with the bush all around. The bach is warm and cosy with the log burner and all afternoon sun. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon, you'd almost think it was summer again! Highly recommended, will definitely be going back. Thank you!
